Starting a business is quiet taxing on one’s spirit, its a daunting effort and not for the faint hearted. When you have decide to start a business either by your on volution or by the circumstances that you find your self in. You must be prepared for a lot of hard work and disappointments. When I started my business it was discouraging at most of the times with not immediate clients or turnover, a lot of cold calls that don’t not necesarrily generate a sale, its true though what the say in makerting that on average you have to make 20 calls to get a sale. Don’t despair, all the effort that you are doing is not just lost, it will bring so business in the future because now the person that you meet or tried to sell to now know about you and your business. You have planted a seed of a relationship, some we grow and blosoom and other will wither away.
The more effort you put in selling the more your are like to sell your product or services. I remeber on my first day on the road selling I went into a company where the gentlemen said from the start he was not buying anything and was not even prepared to give me a chance to tell him what it was I could do for him, I had 3 subsequence calls like that and it was discouraging to say the least, on my 4th call I meet a lady. My opening was “nothing ventured nothing gained” with that she gave me some time and by the end of our 15min chat I got a small order, which was quite encouraging, my spirits picked up. For someone who has been in consultancy and sedentary in the office for more that 10years it was quite any experience.
There a saying which “Your hardest time often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep the faith. It will all be worth it in the end”
